In 2017, I knew I had to make a change. As I was exploring my options for losing weight, I decided I needed to start jogging. I HATED the idea of running. As I was searching the Internet to find ways to tolerate running, I was struck by a single sentence: You can't out run your fork! At that point, I felt defeated, like nothing would ever work to help me lose weight. That's when one single meeting changed my life. I had a work meeting with someone I hadn't seen in over a year. He looked like a new person, half his size. I asked him if he was ok (everyone jumps to the question - do you have cancer?). He spent the next 90 minutes sharing his story of open heart surgery and how he found the work of many doctors, one specficially, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease). This meeting was in November and I was intrigued. I studied, but didn't adopt the lifestyle change until after January 2018, driving home from California, I shared my research with my family and after that 6 hour drive home, we jumped 'all in' and haven't looked back! Over 200 lbs loss as a family - we are healthier than ever!
